Overview
Discover Central Asia on this overland journey from the capital of Kyrgyzstan through Uzbekistan, to Tajikistan and Ashgabat. Take in the tranquil landscape of Son-Kol Lake, hike up the Sulumain-too Mountain in Osh and scale the ancient city walls of Tajikistan’s Panjakent. Explore the ancient mosques in Samarkand, see the eternal fire from the Gates of Hell and discover the sci-fi-like architecture in Ashgabat. Share a home-cooked lunch with a Tajik family, bargain in the bustling bazaars and learn about the region’s history with a local leader by your side.

3. This is a multi-country trip. Please read the ‘Passports, visas and entry requirements’ section of the Essential Trip Information carefully to be fully prepared for your trip. You’ll not be able to take taxis or walk further away from your hotel without a guide to explore Ashgabat, and please don’t take any photos while you are on your own. We do not recommend spend extra time in Ashgabat unless you need to.
5. This is a combination trip of 2 itineraries and your tour leader and group composition may change on Day 17.
6. While travelling in Turkmenistan, you won’t have access to social media and some websites. If you need to stay connected, consider arranging a VPN before leaving home. It’s also possible to use Esim in Turkmenistan (please check directly with service provider).
