Before setting off on your sledding adventure, you will receive a briefing on how to control the sleds. After the safari, return to the farm to warm up with hot berry juice by an open fire and enjoy a conversation with the head musher, learning fascinating insights about these incredible animals. If the temperature rises above 10°C, the huskies are unable to run, and the experience will be limited to a visit around the husky farm. For Autumn departures, the huskies will pull an ATV, while for Winter departures, they will pull a traditional sled. Today begins with a guided city tour of Oslo, taking in some of the capital's most notable landmarks, including the Parliament building, guarded by its iconic lion statues, the National Theatre, and the elegant Royal Palace — the official residence of Norway's monarch. We also make a stop at Akershus Castle and Fortress (viewed from the outside), a medieval stronghold built in the 14th century by King Håkon V. Long regarded as a national symbol, the fortress is now a popular gathering place for both visitors and locals. Make your way to Oslo Airport for your flight to Reykjavik. The Flytoget Express Train offers the most efficient and cost-effective transfer, departing from Oslo Central Station approximately every 20 minutes. Upon arrival at Keflavik International Airport, board the included FlyBus transfer to Reykjavik. As you travel, take in the otherworldly landscapes of the Reykjanes Peninsula, with its vast moss-covered lava fields and rugged terrain. The evening is yours to explore Reykjavik at your leisure, whether strolling through the vibrant city centre, discovering its unique Nordic charm, or enjoying a taste of Icelandic cuisine. After breakfast, take your luggage down to be stored and meet your guide and group at 9am in the hotel lobby for a sightseeing tour of Reykjavik — a classic introduction to the many sights of Iceland's wonderful capital city. You will see many of the city's main attractions including the City Hall, the National Museum, Höfði house (site of the 1986 summit), the Harpa Concert Hall and Conference Centre and the city's main landmark, Hallgrímskirkja Church. We'll also visit the Perlan glass dome, providing a 360°view over Reykjavík and the surrounding landscapes. After leaving the city, we journey back to the Reykjanes Peninsula to visit one of the country's most famous attractions, the Blue Lagoon. The lagoon is a unique wonder; a lake with pleasantly warm mineral-rich geothermal water in the middle of a black lava field. The high natural levels of silica and minerals give the Lagoon its rich blue colour.
