If Inspiring Vacations has not provided your international airfares, please ensure you provide your flight details via your Traveller Hub portal no later than 90 days prior to travel so that your transfers can be confirmed.
If you are arriving early and have made your own arrangements prior to your tour commencing, airport transfers will not be included. However, if you are purchasing pre-nights accommodation as part of your Inspiring Vacations package, airport transfers will still be provided to the starting hotel.
Embark on a captivating morning walking tour of Zagreb, Croatia's capital, as you explore both the historic Lower and Upper towns. Alternatively, indulge in the delectable gourmet offerings at local pubs and restaurants. The day concludes with a comfortable overnight stay in Zagreb, allowing you to savour the essence of this charming city.
Day 3 - Zagreb [Bus] Plitvice Lakes [Bus] Split
Embark on a morning journey towards the breathtaking Plitvice Lakes National Park, one of Croatia's oldest and most spectacular national parks. Immerse yourself in the natural wonders as you explore the park's 16 interconnected lakes adorned with cascading waterfalls. Delight in a 3 to 4-hour walking tour along wooden paths and nature trails, surrounded by lush greenery and enchanting turquoise waters (please note a minimum fitness level is required).
After the awe-inspiring experience at Plitvice Lakes, head to your hotel in Split for a comfortable overnight stay, cherishing the memories of this picturesque adventure.
Day 4 - Split [Ship] Makarska
Join a captivating guided tour of Split, the largest city in Dalmatia, boasting a wealth of cultural heritage and historical significance that traces back to Roman times. At the heart of this expansive city lies the majestic palace constructed by Emperor Diocletian during the turn of the 4th century, which continues to stand as one of the world's most remarkably preserved Roman architectural marvels. Immerse yourself in the fascinating history as you explore the intricate details of the palace.
Once the walking tour concludes, prepare for the next part of your journey—an unforgettable Katarina Line cruise, commencing in the vibrant city of Split. Get ready to embark on a remarkable adventure, where the beauty of the Dalmatian coast unfolds before your eyes. Set sail at 13:00h and cruise along the mesmerising Dalmatian coast, indulging in a delightful lunch onboard. Experience the joy of an afternoon swim at one of the stunning beaches along the way.
Prepare for an enchanting overnight stay in Makarska, a renowned tourist destination adorned with a plethora of restaurants, bars, and a captivating promenade lining the famous beach. Explore the allure of the Makarska Riviera and take leisurely strolls through the city streets, where you'll find an abundance of churches and other culturally significant sites to cherish. Embrace the magic of Makarska and create lasting memories amidst its captivating charm.
Day 5 - Makarska [Ship] Bol (Brač) [Ship] Stari Grad
Begin your morning adventure by cruising towards the next captivating destination—the island of Brač, specifically to the charming town of Bol. Bol is renowned for its iconic Zlatni Rat beach, also known as the Golden Horn, a natural wonder that stands out with its unique shape, dominating the other beaches. Take a refreshing swimming break at this picturesque location before enjoying a delicious lunch onboard.
Continue your voyage towards Stari Grad on the island of Hvar, known as the sunniest Adriatic island. The afternoon is yours to explore this exceptional town at your own pace. Be sure to visit the famous Stari Grad Field, the oldest in Croatia and an exceptionally preserved example of an ancient Greek agricultural system. Both the old town and the field hold the esteemed title of UNESCO World Heritage sites.
As the day comes to a close, settle in for the night in one of the ports of Stari Grad, either the main port or the ferry port, depending on availability. Prepare to rest and rejuvenate in the embrace of this charming coastal town, awaiting more unforgettable experiences on your journey.
Day 6 - Stari Grad [Ship] Hvar
Our next enchanting destination is the captivating town of Hvar, known as a beloved hotspot for jet setters from all corners of the globe. After a delightful lunch, we make a stop at the nearby Paklinski islands, where you can indulge in swimming, relaxation, and refreshing moments in the clear, crystal-blue sea. The picturesque beauty of this area is sure to leave you in awe.
As the afternoon approaches, we arrive in Hvar, ready to embark on a guided tour of this extraordinary town. Hvar boasts an array of cultural and historical sites, including a Renaissance cathedral, Europe's oldest communal theatre founded in 1612, the Franciscan monastery, and the Benedictine convent renowned for their lace, listed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Don't miss the chance to visit the majestic Spanjola fortress, perched high above the town, offering breathtaking views.
In the evening, Hvar comes alive with numerous restaurants and bars that stay open late into the night, promising a vibrant and unforgettable experience. Embrace the charm and allure of this remarkable destination as you create lasting memories in the company of fellow travellers.
In the early morning, set sail towards the charming Biševo island to witness the breathtaking Blue Cave, a magnificent natural wonder. Please note that there is an entrance fee of 18 EUR, payable on the spot. The cruise then continues to the island of Vis, which was once a strategic navy harbour and remained closed to the public until recently. Due to its unique geographical position and isolation, Vis exudes a special charm, offering a glimpse of the Mediterranean as it once was—an aspect that makes it truly fascinating to explore.
Your overnight stay is in the town of Vis, nestled on the northern side of the island and developed around the remnants of ancient Issa, the first urban centre in Croatia. If you're intrigued by history, you have the option to visit the remains of the Roman thermal place or explore the City Museum. Alternatively, you can take a leisurely stroll and relish the sight of beautiful "Villae Rusticae" dotting the coastline, providing a picturesque view along your path. Embrace the captivating allure of Vis and indulge in the peaceful atmosphere of this historically rich island.
Day 8 - Vis [Ship] Korčula
After a delightful breakfast, we set sail towards the captivating island of Korčula, famed as the birthplace of the renowned explorer and adventurer, Marco Polo. As we approach the island from the sea, you'll be enchanted by the sight of medieval walls surrounding Korčula, giving it the appearance of a miniature Dubrovnik. This charming island is steeped in legends, tales, and monuments, making it a place of rich history and intrigue like no other.
Today, Korčula proudly maintains a unique tradition—the Spanish medieval knight's game called Moreška—making it the only place in the world where this spectacle is performed. Upon arrival, you'll have the opportunity to enjoy a guided walking tour through the streets of the old town, thoughtfully laid out in the shape of a fishbone (included on Premium Superior package). Wander through the narrow alleyways and admire the architectural wonders that have stood the test of time.
In the evening, indulge in the abundant offerings of konobas (taverns), restaurants, cocktail bars, and nightclubs located both within and around the city walls. Your overnight stay will be in the port, allowing you to immerse yourself in the captivating ambiance of Korčula, taking in its history and vibrant contemporary atmosphere.
Day 9 - Korčula [Ship] Mljet [Ship] Šipan or Slano
The cruise continues its journey towards the island of Mljet, one of the lushest and greenest islands in the Adriatic. On the western part of the island lies the captivating Mljet National Park (entrance fee of 25 EUR to be paid on the spot). Upon arrival, you'll have free time to immerse yourself in the park's natural splendours.
The national park boasts two mesmerising salt lakes connected to the sea by a narrow channel. Here, you can take a boat ride to the St. Mary isle in the Great Lake, where an old church and monastery are nestled in serene surroundings. You'll have the chance to enjoy various activities, such as cycling, canoeing, or taking a refreshing swim in the picturesque lakes.
The cruise then continues towards either Šipan, a part of the Elaphite islands near Dubrovnik, or Slano, located along the coastline. Both places are charming fishermen's villages, and we'll have the opportunity to stay overnight in one of these ports. As the day draws to a close, indulge in the delightful Captain's dinner onboard, savouring the delectable cuisine while surrounded by the enchanting beauty of the Adriatic seascape.
Day 10 - Šipan or Slano [Ship] Dubrovnik
Set sail early in the morning towards the grand finale of our journey — a true pearl of the Adriatic. After a delightful lunch, we'll make a brief stop for a refreshing swim. Then, prepare to embark on a guided tour of Dubrovnik, a city steeped in history and beauty. For those seeking an awe-inspiring panoramic experience, there's an optional cable car ride to the top of Srđ mountain, offering spectacular views of the old town and its surroundings.
During your time in Dubrovnik, we highly recommend taking a leisurely stroll along the impressive city walls, stretching 1940 metres in length. From this vantage point, you'll be treated to magnificent views of Dubrovnik's old town and the enchanting islands that dot the horizon.
As the day comes to a close, we'll find our overnight haven in the welcoming harbour of Gruž. Relish in the memories of our remarkable journey through the Adriatic as you bid farewell to this mesmerising destination.
After breakfast, you depart your ship and will be transferred to your hotel where you will have another full day to explore Dubrovnik.
You can catch the cable car up to Srđ mountain for spectacular views of the city, or explore the many shops and cafes that line Stradun, the main street, or walk the medieval walls that wrap around the entirety of the town itself.
Day 12 - Dubrovnik [Bus] Mostar [Bus] Dubrovnik
Enjoy a delicious breakfast before embarking on an escorted full-day bus tour to Mostar. As you pass through the breathtaking Neretva Valley and the picturesque local countryside, you'll reach Mostar—a town where "the east meets west." This captivating place is a harmonious blend of contrasts, culture, vibrant colours, and delightful cuisine.
Mostar's unique charm lies not only in its division by the Neretva River but also in the distinct religious and cultural influences on each bank. Explore the rich history and experience the diverse atmosphere that sets this town apart.
After a fulfilling day in Mostar, we'll return to Dubrovnik for a comfortable overnight stay, cherishing the memories of this remarkable journey through fascinating landscapes and captivating cultures.
Day 13 - Dubrovnik [Bus] Montenegro [Bus] Dubrovnik
Join an escorted full-day bus excursion to Montenegro, a charming small country adorned with magnificent mountains that gracefully meet the Adriatic Sea. Prepare to be enchanted by Montenegro's natural beauty, featuring crystal-clear lakes, rushing rivers, and tranquil beaches that create a serene atmosphere.
During this excursion, you'll have the pleasure of exploring Montenegro's diverse nature attractions, which seamlessly blend with its fascinating history, rich culture, and enduring traditions. Immerse yourself in the pristine surroundings and breathe in the refreshing, clean air that characterises this picturesque land.
As the day draws to a close, we'll return to Dubrovnik for a restful overnight stay, leaving you with cherished memories of your captivating adventure through the splendours of Montenegro.
After breakfast, your journey across Croatia ends. You'll be transferred to the airport for your flight home.
