After breakfast, enjoy a private full day tour of Cairo’s main highlights. In the morning your Egyptologist will take you to the new Grand Egyptian Museum , the world’s largest museum which features the famous treasures of King Tutankhamun as well as the largest and most precious collection of Egyptian art in the world. Continue to Giza Plateau, where the awe-inspiring Pyramids of Cheops, Chephren & Mycerinus rise from the desert sand. Take a closer look at the Sphinx before transfer back to hotel. (B)

In the morning departure for Alexandria, approximately a three-hour drive through the desert. Upon arrival in this city, named after Alexander the Great, sightseeing begins with a visit to the Alexandria Library. After journey to the Catacombs of Kom ash-Shuqqafa which is the largest Greco-Roman Necropolis in Egypt, before continuing to the Roman Amphitheatre and then to the Pompey’s Pillar, which is over 25 metres high. Today journey 150 kilometres along the Mediterranean coast to El-Alamein. This small village on the coast, to the west of Alexandria, is historically recognised as it witnessed the World War II battle which changed the course of the North African campaign in the Allies’ favour. You’ll enjoy visiting the battlefields and the War Museum. In the afternoon, return to Cairo to for overnight.  (B)  

Transfer from Cairo hotel to the airport for short flight to Aswan.  On arrival in Aswan transfer to cruise vessel for embarkation. (Opportunity to add optional trip to Abu Simbel).   After lunch visit to the High Dam and the breathtaking Temple of Philae, which was at the centre of the Cult of Isis, the goddess of magic.  Rest of the afternoon free time for a swim or a visit to the sundeck. After breakfast sail to Kom Ombo where you’ll visit a temple dedicated to two gods – the left side to the god Haroeris and the right side to Sobek, the crocodile god. After lunch, sail to Edfu, which stands almost exactly half-way between Aswan and Luxor. Dinner and overnight on board. (B, L, D) 

Today visit of the Temple of Horus in Edfu, which according to Egyptian mythology is where Horus, the falcon god fought a raging fight with his uncle Seth, who had brutally assassinated Horus’ father, Osiris. Then continue on to Luxor. In the afternoon visit East Bank, where you will be guided through the Karnak Temple, known as the most perfect of places to the ancient Egyptians and dedicated to the king of the gods, Amun. Continue to the Luxor Temple, which dominates the banks of the Nile and is an elegant example of Pharaoh architecture. Dinner and overnight on board. (B, L, D)

Disembarkation after breakfast. Continue with a visit to the West Bank and see the Valley of the Kings, Queen Hatshepsut’s Temple and the Colossi of Memnon. Transfer to the airport for flight to Cairo. Upon arrival in Cairo, transfer to your hotel. Enjoy an afternoon at leisure or take an optional tour of the Citadel and Bazaar. Holiday Inn Hotel. (B)
