Tasmania Grand Tour

Our Carbon Neutral flights arrive into Hobart where we board a third-party coach for transfer into the city, ensuring responsible travel with 100% offset flight and coach emissions. This evening, enjoy a seafood dinner at the lively Drunken Admiral for a taste of Tasmania.

This morning we board our opulent ‘Diamond Class’ coach, making our way to Tasmans Arch and Devils Kitchen enroute to the Port Arthur Historic Site. Discover its grim history dating back to the 1830s and the harsh convict life. Following a scenic cruise on Carnarvon Bay, we return to Hobart via Eaglehawk Neck, visiting the Tessellated Pavement enroute.

Leaving Hobart, we trace the Derwent Valley to Russell Falls, known for its tiered cascade. Next, we explore ‘The Wall in the Wilderness,’ an ongoing artistic project depicting Central Highlands history. In the afternoon, we journey west, visiting Nelson Waterfalls and view the Iron Blow copper mine. Then travelling via Queenstown, we reach Strahan.

Experience Western Tasmania’s tranquil charm with a Gordon River cruise. Witness Hells Gates, the Macquarie Harbour entrance, and explore Sarah Island’s historic convict settlement. Savour a smorgasbord lunch amid the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage area and enjoy some free time to explore the township before returning to Strahan Village.

Step aboard the West Coast Wilderness Railway’s heritage diesel train. Head deep into the rainforest and listen as onboard guides share stories of those who built the railway. We break for lunch at Regatta Point Station then depart Strahan for an journey to Cradle Mountain for an overnight stay.

This morning, we stop and savour the incredible scenery of Dove Lake and Gustav Weindorfer’s Waldheim Chalet before enjoying lunch at the Cradle Mountain Hotel. Following this, we visit Devils@Cradle, where we’ll get an up-close encounter with the Tasmanian Devil during a special feeding tour, offering a glimpse into the life of this remarkable creature. We then head for Devonport for a 2-night stay.

This morning we travel to the town of Woolnorth where we take a guided tour of Australia’s largest dairy farm. Explore the old farm buildings and see how nearly 1,000 hectares have transitioned from beef grazing to dairy farming. Visit Tasmania’s first wind farm, offering stunning Southern Ocean views. At Cape Grim, experience breathtaking seascapes with nearby Aboriginal middens and fishing boats gathering abalone and lobster around the Doughboys. After lunch in the historic shearing shed we travel to Stanley taking in the breathtaking views on a return chairlift ride to the top of the local attraction known as The Nut.

Departing Devonport, we make our way to Launceston’s Cataract Gorge where we ride the world’s longest single-span chairlift, delighting in breathtaking vistas. Afterwards we set off through Dorset to witness the Legerwood Carved Memorial Trees - a remarkable tribute to WWI soldiers. We then pause at Pyengana Dairy, renowned for its heritage cheeses, before making our way to our accommodation.

This morning we take to the skies for a scenic flight over the Friendly Beaches, Wineglass Bay and ‘The Hazards’ Mountains. Tracking the Freycinet Peninsula we spot Maria Island, the impressive pink granite cliffs and Tasmania’s iconic rugged coastline. Back on the ground we arrive at the Lobster Shack in Bicheno for their famous lobster roll before visiting the Tasmanian Wool Centre on our way back to Hobart.

After breakfast this morning we make our way to Hobart Airport for our respective Carbon Neutral flights home.
