Your adventure begins on arrival at the airport for your flight to Hobart. 

On arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel where the remainder of the day is at your leisure.      

After breakfast, travel to Tasmania’s rugged West Coast. Along the way, stop at Lake St Clair, Australia’s deepest freshwater lake and the southern gateway to the Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park.  Continue to Derwent Bridge to visit The Wall in the Wilderness, an impressive series of hand-carved timber sculptures depicting the region’s history and natural heritage. 

Arrive in Strahan late afternoon. Once a thriving port town, Strahan is now a popular gateway to the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area. Check into Strahan Village for a two-night stay and enjoy dinner with the group this evening. 

Today enjoy the renowned Gordon River Cruise. Travel across Macquarie Harbour to Hells Gates, the narrow entrance to the Southern Ocean, before visiting historic Sarah Island, a former convict settlement.

Cruise along the tranquil Gordon River, famous for its pristine wilderness and spectacular reflections. A buffet lunch is included on board.   Return to Strahan mid-afternoon. Those wishing to explore further can visit Ocean Beach, Tasmania’s longest beach, stretching more than 30 kilometres along the wild west coast. Alternatively, enjoy free time in Strahan. 

Depart Strahan and travel to Devonport on the Northwest Coast, with sightseeing along the way.   

This morning visit Cradle Mountain National Park, one of Tasmania’s most iconic natural attractions. Travel by shuttle bus to Dove Lake, where you can admire the mountain scenery or enjoy a walk along the boardwalk.

Travel east along Tasmania’s northwest coast toward Launceston. Along the way, sample some of the region’s favourite local produce with visits to Christmas Hills Raspberry Farm, Ashgrove Cheese, and House of Anvers Chocolates. 

Arrive in Launceston during the afternoon. Rich in colonial history, Tasmania’s northern capital is also renowned for its food, wine, and cultural attractions. 

Today follow the Great Eastern Drive, one of Australia’s most scenic coastal routes, to Freycinet National Park.  Visit Coles Bay and enjoy the opportunity to walk to the famous Wineglass Bay Lookout or choose the easier Cape Tourville Lighthouse walk, both offering outstanding coastal views. 

Continue to Bicheno and settle into your accommodation before joining a guided penguin tour. Visit a private rookery and observe little penguins in their natural environment while learning about their behaviour and habitat. 

Today you will travel from the East Coast to Hobart.  Visit Richmond - a very popular historical village with Australia’s oldest bridge and many galleries and cafes. 

Return to Hobart, checking into your hotel where you will be based for 4 nights.

This morning one of Australia’s most popular and loved outdoor markets - Salamanca Market. This market is held every Saturday morning full of art, craft, colour, music, handcrafted Tasmanian items and produce and a leisurely walk from your hotel. 

The rest of the day is free to explore Hobart at your leisure. 

Travel to the Tasman Peninsula and visit the Port Arthur Historic Site, one of Australia’s most significant convict-era settlements and a UNESCO World Heritage-listed attraction.  Your visit includes the site’s introductory walking tour and harbour cruise, providing insight into Tasmania’s colonial history and the lives of those who lived and worked there.  Afterwards, visit the Port Arthur Lavender Farm and browse its range of locally produced lavender products.

On the return journey to Hobart, stop at some of the peninsula’s most impressive natural landmarks, including Devil’s Kitchen, Tasman Arch, the Tessellated Pavement, and Remarkable Cave.  This evening, celebrate the conclusion of your tour with a farewell dinner. 

After breakfast, transfer to Hobart Airport for your flight home. Depart Tasmania with unforgettable memories of its dramatic landscapes, unique wildlife, rich history, and warm hospitality.
